On
November 30, 1909 residents of the city held a parade to celebrate
the laying of the cornerstone of the Mountain View's first city hall
building. This photo shows the parade making its way down Castro
Street between Villa Street and Dana Street. The years after
incorporation saw the transformation of Mountain View from a
frontier town to a small agricultural city.
