Mancini
Motors on El Camino Real at the intersection of Castro Street was
one of Mountain View's most well known landmarks during the mid 20th
century. The 52 foot tall tower with globe and other aspects of the
sites architecture were from the Chrysler Exhibit at the San
Francisco Worlds Fair. The property was sold and demolished in 1974
and was replaced by the large Home Savings of America
building, now home to Washington Mutual. The Mancini family home
still stands at Church Avenue.
