Here
we see Castro Street during the early 1950s. The malls had not yet
taken shoppers away from the Downtown area, and small department
stores, bakeries, clothing boutiques, hardware stores, and variety
stores lined the street. The Mtn. View Theater was the city's own
little movie palace and its marquee brightly proclaimed our towns
name at night.
