The
area between Villa Street and the train tracks was Mountain View's
first major industrial area. One of the industries here was the
"Pickle Works" a fixture of Mountain View from 1915 to
1963 which operated under a variety of names, including Hunts Foods
Inc. The smell of pickles was once common in this area of Mountain
View, as was the sound of the factory's whistle. This area is now
home to the Police and Fire Administration Building
