Mountain
View's first high rise residential buildings, Avalon Towers on the Peninsula
were completed in 2002. The somewhat controversial towers are filled
with luxury apartments. Located on El Camino Real, the two towers
were built between too pre-existing high rise office buildings.
Whether or not the city should allow more high density projects such
as these towers is a question that leaders of Mountain View in the
next century will likely face.
